THE SHELL COST CENTRE
Shell Cost Centre is equipped with facilities as under:-
- A battery of high tonnage hydraulic forging presses of capacity upto 1500 tonnes and a number of induction heaters.
- A range of special & general purpose machines to provide Shell turning facilities, CNC turning centres, hydraulic bottling presses with induction heaters, Automatic hardening & tempering furnace, Surface treatment plants, Hydraulic pressure testing machine, Ultrasonic & magnetic crack detection machines and Hydraulic band mounting presses.
THE FUZE & CARTRIDGE CASE COST CENTRE
Fuze & Cartridge Case Cost Centre houses following facilities:-
- Special purpose transfer machining lines, single & multi spindle automats, flow turning machines, CNC 4 axis turn mill centres, a battery of CNC machines, Electronic measuring instruments, a number of testing facilities; spining machines for fuzes, special purpose profile copy milling machines, a dust free assembly shop & a range of other special purpose machines.
- Hydraulic presses for deep drawing operations, 2500 tonne hydraulic presses for heading operations, fully automatic plants for pickling, degreasing & annealing, induction heaters for mouth & body annealing operations, machining lines for head turning & threading operations of Brass, Aluminium & Steel components.
- Electro deposition facilities for components of Steel, Brass & Aluminium comprising of facilities for Anodising, Phosphating, Zinc, Nickle & Cadmium plating and Dyeing.
THE NON-FERROUS COST CENTRE
Non Ferrous Cost Centre is equipped with :-
- Aluminium Alloy Melting & Casting of Standard & Special Alloys in the form of Billets of upto 600 mm dia.
- Aluminium Alloy Extrusion using a 9000T capacity Extrusion Press which is the largest Extrusion press of its kind in Asia. Facilities for controlled Stretching of Extruded products, Solution Heat Treatment & Artificial ageing Furnaces.
- Pressure & Gravitational Die Casting of intricate designs.
- Fabrication & assembly of Light metal Floating & Manually Launched Assault Bridges mainly intended for Defence use.
- Well equipped Laboratory with facilities for Chemical, Mechanical & Non Destructive Testing.
The factory has got a well equipped Tool room for manufacture of tools, gauges, jigs & fixtures required for production in the factory, which has got Plating facilities also.
